Chicago has a large and growing hip hop scene full of diversity and Hip Hop Vibe has had the fortune of interviewing a good number of them. One rapper who never had the pleasure is Lil Jojo and it’s because he was murdered a year ago. It was unclear what went on, but Chief Keef was rumored to be involved.
Friends of Chief Keef also made disrespectful posts about Lil Jojo and it led to plenty of shock, disgust, and outrage. Eventually, Chief Keef denied any involvement in what happened and the story faded from the headlines. Indeed, the situation was saddening, but all the people can do is learn the lesson and grow.
Lil Jojo is gone and is not coming back, but those close to him and who support him have named today “Lil Jojo Day.” Fans on the internet have coined today this day and there was even a tribute for Lil Jojo presented. A rapper named Smylez did a song in honor of Lil Jojo back in July that was shared today.
