Most of the “Empire” drama is happening in real life, as opposed to the show. Normally, “Empire” is forgotten, during this time of the year, due to the winter hiatus, before the spring half of the season. But, courtesy of Jussie Smollett, this hasn’t been the case.
Since season three, Jussie Smollett’s Jamal has gone through major transitions. When he got shot, back in 2016, many people thought the character of Jamal was the one dying. The seasons since then have seen him dealing with drug addiction, and a series of lovers.
Jussie Smollett landed himself in hot water, due to his claims about being attacked, in Chicago. With more evidence mounting, it’s looking as if Smollett staged the attack, drawing ire from the president, due to his original claims. Now, FOX has intervened, and “Empire” has cut Smollett from the final two “Empire” episodes of the season.
