Much pressure was placed on Kwame Brown, when he entered the NBA. The first pick, of the 2001 NBA Draft, Brown was Michael Jordan’s first draft selection. That, alone, built pressure, but then Jordan returned to the NBA.
Kwame Brown was the first straight out of high school draft pick to go number one. He definitely had potential, but didn’t live up to it. Once Jordan left, he played alongside Gilbert Arenas, with the Wizards.
On “All the Smoke,” Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson made jokes about Kwame Brown. This was during their interview, with Gilbert Arenas, which Arenas came to his defense. But, Brown went off on all of them, in a series of videos, where he called Gilbert Arenas the “whitest black guy” he ever met, along with insults for Jackson and Barnes.
