Prior to this, LeBron proved himself with his four championships. It’s not just the titles he has, it’s how he got them. Worst case scenario, LeBron has led each team he’s played for to the NBA Finals. Now he has a stat named after him.
LeBron James reinvented the idea of a superstar NBA player. When he came into the league, he was compared to Michael Jordan. In fact, he was billed as the “next Michael Jordan,” down to wearing the number 23 jersey. However, he proved himself to be one of one, when he changed jersey numbers, signed with the Miami Heat, and won two titles. In addition, he led Miami to four straight Finals. After that, he returned to Cleveland, led them to four straight Finals, and won one title.
LeBron James lived life and played the game by his own rules. So when the pundits discuss the best of the best, in the NBA, LeBron is in there. If not for his individual greatness, it’s his legacy. A list, covering five of the NBA’s best players has gone viral on Twitter. The players were Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Domantas Sabonis. As their stats were listed, at the bottom was the “LEBRON” stat.
