Everything in hip hop had a comeback in 2012. Noticeably missing was Jay-Z, though he had a hand in many of the biggest names’ success. Former partners in rhyme to Jay-Z, Ja Rule and DMX, had comebacks. Even battle rapping came back stronger than ever in 2012, along with beef within itself, as several rappers butted heads.
After holding Los Angeles down in 2011 and formally introducing Kendrick Lamar, Game went for an encore in 2012. Jesus Piece was Game going two for two and the promotion was very interesting. The highly-awaited debut from Kendrick Lamar came before Game dropped his album. Shyne, who has gone at Rick Ross, Drake, and the Coke Boys, called the album “trash,” prompting Game to respond.
Game and Shyne have used Vlad TV as their forum, sounding each other off repeatedly through the popular website. The feud, for the most part, has been contained between Game and Shyne, with one comment coming from Kendrick Lamar. Vlad TV recently sought Charlamagne Tha God’s take on the feud and he responded with “nobody cares.”
