Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” film earned $21 million in first weekend
On December 1, Beyonce released her highly anticipated “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.” Moreover, special cocktails were created by AMC for the release of Renaissance, as well as custom cups. The cocktails are the “Alien Superstar,” which is named after one of the songs on Bey’s 2022 Billboard 200 chart-topping “Renaissance” album. That project was one of the most popular albums of her career, as it contained hits such as “Alien Superstar,” “Virgo’s Groove,” the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “Break My Soul,” and more.
As a result, Beyoncé saw massive success of the Renaissance film, as theaters were packed. Furthermore, according to Chart Data, the numbers for its opening weekend are also here. Renaissance reportedly earned an estimated $21 million at the US box office. It’s also said to be the first first film that has opened over $20 million on this weekend in 20 years.
This film by Beyoncé was named after her 2022 album, as well as the Renaissance World Tour that she embarked on, this year. The film dived into the various tour dates that she performed in, as every stadium was sold out. Many cities also earned multiple dates, such as Atlanta and Bey’s hometown of Houston.
