Album Preview: Earl Sweatshirt – “Doris”

Interesting music that comes from this camp right here, Odd Future. They redefined what people expect from Los Angeles hip hop. Odd Future is definitely not the “Straight Outta Compton”-style music that most know California hip hop for. They bring something new to the table, which is why they are immensely popular.

Newer fans may not be as familiar with Earl Sweatshirt as they are with the others because he was not present for the 2011 breakout year. A bit of a problem child, Earl Sweatshirt was sent to reform school by his parents and returned last year. He has indeed hit the ground running with his music.

Earl Sweatshirt has spent his first moments free up until this point working on his debut album, Doris. His major label debut is due on August 20 and Earl Sweatshirt delivered the track listing for the album today. This project includes fifteen new tracks from the popular LA rapper.
