Disappointing much of his core fan base with his debut album, Wiz Khalifa knew he had to make things right on his second album. Wiz Khalifa built this fan base by being different from the other rappers in the game. However, this was not the case when his album came out.
Evidenced by the O.N.I.F.C. album cover, Wiz Khalifa did not make the same mistake twice. On the album cover, Wiz Khalifa dressed the way he did because of his dare to be different. Watching his dreams come true at such a young age, Wiz Khalifa is caught up in the moment for most of his new album, which is a good thing.
The Only Nigga in First Class, something he has lived several times, Wiz Khalifa speaks on this newfound lifestyle on such songs as “Paperbond.” While he keeps the same topic, Wiz Khalifa manages to switch it up on such tracks as “The Bluff,” with Cam’ron and goes back to his roots with “Medicated,” with Chevy Woods and Juicy J.
Taking over the game at a young age, Wiz Khalifa sees more money in a year than most do in a lifetime. O.N.I.F.C. is the soundtrack for the young and is an overall quality album. Most importantly, Wiz Khalifa has shown lyrical growth since the release of his last album. However, his high point is also his pitfall, as Wiz Khalifa finds different ways to mention his wallet size throughout the album, which has the capability of turning people off.
