Two seasons of “Empire” is proof enough that Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) is an alpha male. Having come from being homeless, on the streets, and selling drugs, one can imagine how tough that is. Whatever the case, Lucious defied those odds and is now a billionaire.
Lucious didn’t mention much about his childhood, other than his mother and father being dead. This season, via flashbacks when he has scenes with Andre (Trai Byers), more was revealed. It turns out, Lucious’ mom, Leah (Kelly Rowland) was bipolar.
Before the season finale, Leah (now Leslie Uggams) is revealed alive, but not mentally well. As soon as Andre found her and brought her to the family, Lucious’ entire demeanor changed and her hold on him was revealed. Later, Leah wakes Lucious (aka Dwight) in the middle of the night to threaten to kill him if he doesn’t eat the cake LOL.
