D’Angelo Russell of the Brooklyn Nets had a breakthrough 2018-19 season as he averaged 21 points and seven assists per game. He also made his first NBA All-Star Game.

Russell had some trouble at LaGurdia Airport in New York City in TSA today as he was caught with weed. It was stashed in a fake Arizona iced tea can, per TMZ Sports. This was prior to a flight. He was supposed to fly to Louisville, Kentucky.

TMZ Sources say Russell tried to lie and say that the weed was his brother’s. He was soon cited for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and ended up being able to leave. Russell has to know better than to bring weed in a state that it’s still not legal in at an airport. Kentucky still hasn’t gave it a green light either, even though both states need to.
