Hip hop is a multi-million dollar industry for a reason. It is important for people who want to be in this industry to realize there is much more than being an artist, producer, personality, etc. Once a name gets built, people can do almost anything and people who are not musically-inclined sometimes align themselves through clothing.
The people behind SuperEgo Clothiers have a love for hip hop music, so they decided to mold the culture through lifestyle. One of the hottest up-and-coming brands coming up in hip hop clothing is SuperEgo. In this game, a person’s word can make or break them, these folks are made, so put two and two together.
HHV First Look was originally created to document the up-and-coming grinders in the game and to give that first look. Taking it back to the roots, SuperEgo Clothiers actually took time out of their schedule to talk to us. They talked about their clothing line and their new eCommerce site.

Although you launched just this year, how long have you been planning this project? We have been making clothing since 2010 with sustainable fabrics but have since launched SuperegoClothiers.com, an e-Commerce platform for lifestyle products that are cut from a different cloth. On our site you can find a dope collection of brands from around the world that are sustainably produced as well as exclusive limited edition T-shirt brand collabs on our hemp fabric. We had to put in the time first over two years to develop the necessary sustainable product development capabilities and the clout to build buyer relationships with the brands we carry.
Are you pleased with the growth thus far? We are pleased with our continuous evolution but never satisfied with our growth. We’re just getting started.
Who are some of the people you have representing the brand? We don’t pay anyone to wear our brand. There’s a ton of people who have supported us from the start off the strength of our fabrics and because they believed in what we’re about and shared the same values. I guess to name some, Matt Narks is a recording artist who has been representing the brand from the start. Check him out. Definitely the West Coast family at HomeGrownRadio, King Official, Problem’s been rocking with us since we were making private label items. Top rank boxer, Tramaine Williams, has also been representing us from way back. We don’t really have representatives. People just identify with what we stand for and are cut from a different cloth in their own right.
What do you bring that is different to urban streetwear? A lot of brands make clothing. Our brand is changing the way clothing is made. We’re an entirely new marketplace with products that are cut from a different cloth for people who are CFADC.
Can you give us your official website so people can check you out? http://www.superegoclothiers.com.
