One of the pleasant surprises of 2011 was disappearance of Tity Boi, which coincided with the emergence of 2 Chainz. It was around this time last year when 2 Chainz emerged and began releasing a flurry of singles. Before long, 2 Chainz stirred up a bidding war and signed a label deal with Def Jam.
It has been a quick rise for 2 Chainz, as he has gone from being considered a one hit wonder to being a mixtape rapper, and finally at the forefront of hip hop. Better late than never is the motto for 2 Chainz. Only a few years under forty, he finds himself in the top five in terms of popularity and the same age as Rick Ross.
In a month, 2 Chainz will make himself official when he releases Based on a T.R.U. Story, his debut album. The album has enjoyed much success with the lead single, “No Lie,” featuring Drake. Earlier today, there were rumors of two new singles coming. One of the singles was said to feature Kanye West, while the other one was said to feature Nicki Minaj.
Before the rumors got out of hand, 2 Chainz explained to VIBE exactly what is going on.
