50 Cent claims he’s working with Rockstar Games on new GTA
50 Cent has been a force in the game for a very long time. Typically, rappers end up going through a phase when they slow down. Before 50 Cent could be called “irrelevant,” he repositioned himself. Early in his career, 50 had the successful Get Rich or Die Tryin’ film. Revisiting that era, 50 Cent began working with Courtney Kemp and Starz, developing the “Power” franchise. After Kemp left Starz, 50 Cent took the lead in the “Power” universe. Now, he is hinting at a new project with Rockstar Games for Grand Theft Auto.
50 Cent rose to prominence at the same time that Rockstar Games was developing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This particular game had a lot of hype, seeing how it centered around a Black lead character. In addition, the game was influenced by the early 1990s Los Angeles culture, in hip hop, and life in the ghetto. For a while, there was speculation that 50 Cent would voice the lead character. Ultimately, 50 starred in his own video game, Bulletproof, during that span of time. Meanwhile, San Andreas became critically acclaimed.
50 Cent, according to himself, is getting back into the video gaming industry. Currently, Rockstar Games is teasing a new Vice City game. Borrowing from that, 50 Cent shared the new Vice City artwork on his Instagram, last night. In the caption, 50 said that Rockstar Games is the newest company he is collaborating with. Without going into many details, 50 Cent proclaimed that this partnership is going to be bigger than “Power.”
