By 2007, 50 Cent had wrapped himself into a corner, as his feud with Cam’ron had just begun and he was taking shots at an increasingly popular Lil Wayne. The difference between 50 Cent in 2007 and two years prior was his dwindling popularity. At the time, his feud with Jadakiss and The L.O.X. was also still ongoing.
Lil Wayne was on a roll with collaborations and had a strong relationship with Ja Rule since his entry into the game. Ja Rule is 50 Cent’s all-time arch-nemesis, but he was in the middle of a comeback, which eventually failed. But, at the time, it seemed as if Rule was on his way back, with assistance from Lil Wayne.
G-Unit, which still boasted Young Buck began taking shots at Lil Wayne, with Buck saying it was impossible for him to be cool with the crew after he worked with Ja Rule. Five years have passed since then and things have drastically changed, as 50 Cent recently spent a night in Las Vegas with Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber, celebrating Floyd Mayweather, Jr.’s win over Miguel Cotto. Though 50 Cent shook hands with his attempted rap rival, he has yet to address the situation.
Recently, MTV caught up with 50 Cent and he said Lil Wayne was a part of Floyd Mayweather, Jr.’s playlist, so him being there was “cool.”
