9-Year-Old Ezra Blount, Passes Away, From Injuries Suffered, at Astroworld Festival

Travis Scott has been under fire over the past week and a half, due to his Astroworld Festival. Over 300 people were injured, and nine people went on to lose their lives. Over 100 lawsuits have also been filed against the Houston rapper.

22-year-old Texas A&M University student, Bharti Shahani, passed away from her injuries after being on life support, last week. Now, a 9-year-old boy has also lost his life, after being on life support, and suffering from brain and organ damage.

According to ABC 13 Houston, Ezra Blount passed away, on Sunday night. This comes after his father Treston, came out earlier this week, and said that he was ready for a recovery. The two originally purchased Astroworld tickets, when they went on sale, back in May.

Attorney Ben Crump has since released a statement, regarding Ezra’s passing.

“The Blount family is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.”

A lawsuit against Travis was also filed last week, by the Blount family. They cited “grossly negligent conduct,” and cited how Ezra was “kicked, stepped on, and trampled, and nearly crushed to death.” Over 100 lawsuits have been filed in total.

The lawsuit also mentioned how Astroworld Festival, failed to handle crowd control, as well as providing “provide proper medical attention, hiring, training, supervision and retention.”
