TDE has been on a tear and if people can’t admit anything else, they should acknowledge how they brought the West Coast back to prominence. Kendrick Lamar is a phenomenal artist, as is ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul. Long before these guys ever had deals with Interscope Records and Dr. Dre’s backing, they worked.
The TDE guys always dropped independent albums and they continued dropping them even after the deal. While Kendrick Lamar was pushing his major label debut, both ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul dropped street albums. Ab-Soul was apparently working on something new here recently.
This morning, Ab-Soul took to his Twitter and said he only lacked one more song before he was done. There was a hashtag on the tweet and it read #blacklippastor. It could mean a little or it could mean a lot, but it sounds like Ab-Soul is almost done with a project called Black Lip Pastor.
