Anyone who follows Al B. Sure!, on social media, knows that he is one of the most-positive people there is. Literally, all he shares is love, and throwbacks from when he was number one in the game. Coincidentally, when he ruled the game, Uptown Records was on top.
Before Uptown Records became an iconic label, Al B. Sure! was the man that helped Andre Harrell put the label on the map. He was right there, with Heavy D and The Boyz. Before Andre Harrell died, he spoke to Al B. Sure about doing the soundtrack for the Uptown docu-series.
Since Al B. Sure died, work on the Uptown Records docu-series is going forward, airing on BET. However, Al B. Sure has revealed he wasn’t even consulted. He said that when he reached out, they told him everything was covered, and that he’s barely even mentioned in the series, despite being the label’s first artist, and their original highest-selling artist.
