It’s no secret that race relations have gotten increasingly worse over the past four years. How different the treatment is shows itself in odd ways, most recently Ryan Lochte lying about being robbed in Rio. Many figures in the media have found ways to defend his story.
This morning, NBC’s “The Today Show” decided to tackle the issue. Of course, NBC is providing coverage of the Olympics, but not everyone working for the network is pleased. In response to Lochte and what is being called #LochteGate, Al Roker isn’t defending him.
Billy Bush began to defend Lochte for the official apology issued for him “embellishing” the truth. In response to this, Al Roker vehemently said that Lochte lied and would not back down from Billy Bush saying otherwise. This has given Al Roker a major win on Twitter from most fans.
