All week long, New Edition has been in the headlines, as their iconic run was brought to life, again. After years of discussing doing a biopic, the group joined forces with BET for The New Edition Story. Presented in a three-part miniseries, fans relived the good moments and the bad.
Bell Biv DeVoe ended up being a much bigger focus of the movie. The lead in the film was Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, who played Michael Bivins, the businessman of the group. Much of the story centered around the journey of Bivins, Ricky Bell (Elijah Kelley) and Ronnie DeVoe.
The BBD trio stopped by Hot 97, where they spoke to Funkmaster Flex about the movie and their new album. Their new album, Three Stripes, dropped this morning and The New Edition Story wrapped last night. They spoke on the behind the scenes of the movie and much more.
