One of the surprise breakout 2017 stars was SZA, who is also a member of TDE. She signed, back in 2012, when Kendrick Lamar was the big breakout artist. However, SZA only maintained a low profile, through most of her run.
Things ended up changing for SZA, when she dropped her official debut album, last summer. The popularity of “The Weekend” helped establish her as a household name. Now, SZA is up for a Grammy, and the fans have high expectations.
Earlier this afternoon, fans were tweeting about Best New Artist. Aside from fans questioning why she is still considered “new,” they want her to win it. If not her, they say Khalid is okay, but most are promising some broken TV sets, if SZA isn’t the winner.
