Before the mixtapes became as popular as they currently are, they were described as being full of music the artists actually wanted to release. Meanwhile, their albums were filled with tracks put together to sell records. Even with all the resources available for all artists, via the internet, many still have struggles with their record label.
Lupe Fiasco has publicly battled Atlantic Records and went as far as saying he hated the way his 2011 album, Lasers, turned out. Big Sean loves being a part of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, as he has had the opportunity to see Kanye in action and meet Jay-Z. Hailing from hip hop royalty and a part of one of the hottest crews, Big Sean does have disappointments though.
Big Sean recently spoke with Hip Hop Wired and he discussed his Finally Famous: The Album, his debut release. During his interview, Big Sean was candid, speaking on the Cruel Summer album and his upcoming sophomore album. When speaking on his debut album, Big Sean admitted there were a few songs he really could have done without, which took away from the quality of the album.
