The way Birdman put Cash Money Records back together is unprecedented. When the world first met the guys from New Orleans, they were more of a crew than a label. In their current incarnation, they are more of a conglomerate than anything else. It all started with Lil Wayne’s Young Money subsidiary that includes Drake and Nicki.
Last year, Birdman signed We The Best Music Group, which brought Ace Hood over to the YMCMB roster. Officially, Cash Money Records is the label and the distributor, with several sub-labels. Other members of Cash Money Records also have their sub-labels and Birdman is celebrating them all with Rich Gang.
Birdman took to Twitter and Instagram to hype the next single off Rich Gang, which is due in ten days. “We Been On” is the name of the new single and R. Kelly and Lil Wayne are featured on the single. July 23 is when the complete Rich Gang album will be released.
