This story has gained massive momentum on all social media platforms as celebrities, athletes, and politicians alike have been outraged in sharing the tragedy that took place in a small town in Georgia. A white father and son decided to follow Ahmaud Arbery as he was jogging in the neighborhood and murdered him in broad daylight.
No arrests were made for months.
As we all pressed to get the story out, Shaun King diligently updated us all on the progress that was being made in the case. Today the GBI arrested and charged both Gregory McMichael (64) and Travis McMichael (34) in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
There will be a press conference held tomorrow morning in Brunswick, GA. Elected officials and authorities have announced that a grand jury will be reviewing the case, which is likely best considering McMichael is an ex-cop in the small town and had the privilege of connection that kept him from jail this long.
