During the “dark ages” of New York hip hop, one of the rappers who helped keep New York City relevant was Cam’ron. While he has only released one album, 2009’s Crime Pays, in the past six years, Cam’ron has remained one of the biggest names on New York’s hip hop scene. In between album releases, Cam’ron has kept his name out there through mixtape releases.
Three years have passed since the release of his last album and Cam’ron is preparing to release another album later this year. After years of controversy, a high-profile split from his crew, starting a new crew, reuniting with his old crew, and then merging everything, Cam’ron is now ready to record. It is unclear how the deal with Interscope Records ended up, but new music is on the way.
In an effort to warm up fans, Cam’ron has planned to release a new song every day for a month, with the exception of weekends. Last night, via Twitter, Cam’ron revealed he would be releasing a new song every day, starting today. The series of releases will be a part of Cam’ron’s next release, UNLost Files.
