Diddy Shows Love To His Former Bad Boy Records Artist, Black Rob, After Passing Away From Kidney Failure

On Saturday, hip-hop lost another icon and that was Black Rob, who was signed to Bad Boy Records and was known for his 2000 smash hit, “Whoa!” The New York rapper dealt with kidney failure for a while now as DJ Self first reported his death in Atlanta. Rob’s health wasn’t well over these last five years as he also battled with homelessness.

Many wondered when Diddy would speak on Rob’s death on social media. He also received criticism for not handling Rob’s medical bills. A GoFundMe ended up being set up but it did not reach the goal needed to help with Rob’s health. Now, the Bad Boy CEO is taking to Instagram to show Rob some love.

“Rest in power King @therealblackrob ! As I listen to your records today there’s one thing that they all have in common! You have made millions of people all over the world feel good and dance! You are one of a kind! GOD BLESS! 🙏🏿 Love. 🖤💫✨ You will be truly missed!!!!”

Rob released three studio albums in total throughout his music career. His 2000 debut album, “Life Story,” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and went on to be certified platinum in the US. Rob’s final album, “Game Tested, Streets Approved,” was put out back in 2011.
