Most real mixtape heads, especially those in the South are big fans of DJ Drama and the overall Gangsta Grillz movement. There was a little something missing both last year and this year. The missing element from the past two years was DJ Drama, as he didn’t drop an album either year.
DJ Drama last released an album in 2012, Quality Street Music. The album included the popular single, “My Moment,” featuring Jeremih, 2 Chainz, and Meek Mill. During the summer of 2012, the song became a hit and it lasted well into the fall season, helping to re-establish DJ Drama in the mainstream.
Recently, DJ Drama paid a visit to Power 105.1, where he talked to Angie Martinez. He came in discussing Quality Street Music 2, his fifth album that he intends to drop early next year. DJ Drama went on to discuss “My Moment” going gold and the state of the DJs, before mentioning his mixtape with A$AP Ferg.
