When Trick Daddy emerged, bringing Slip-N-Slide Records with him, Miami became a fixture in the overall hip hop scene. Of course, the first presence came from 2 Live Crew, but it reached new heights with DJ Khaled. Initially a radio DJ, Khaled emerged with his albums and never looked back.
These albums helped Rick Ross reach another level in his career, Plies take over the game in 2008, and Ace Hood to become a star. Mainly, the success of Rick Ross helped give Miami an extended seven years on top of the rap game. This run was extended into 2015, with the release of Hood Billionaire.
DJ Khaled was one of the first people to support Rick Ross and he continues to show him the support he always has. Leading up to Hood Billionaire, DJ Khaled has done tons of promotion online. He put a video on Instagram up of him going to a Best Buy, while on tour, and buying out the Hood Billionaire album.
