West Coast legend, DJ Quik, has put on for hip hop over the past three decades. Gifted at making all kinds of music, ranging from gangsta rap to pop, DJ Quik became very adept at being versatile. But, with so many figures in hip hop, DJ Quik became overlooked.
In an industry filled with people chasing fame, DJ Quik was never that guy. Instead of being obsessed with fame, DJ Quik stuck to himself and made music. He grew up, while being an artist, and became a legend, but his story had yet to be properly told.
DJ Quik was featured in the latest episode of “Unsung” on TV One. The episode provided a lot of insight into DJ Quik, with such guys as Erick Sermon and Peter Gunz offering commentary about his creative process. As tonight’s episode went on, DJ Quik began trending on Twitter and many have said they are inspired by his comeup.
