This morning, Hip-Hop received some very bad news as it was reported by TMZ that DMX suffered a drug overdose at 11pm on Friday night. He was then taken to a hospital in White Plains, NY. The overdose was said to have caused a heart attack.
DMX has reportedly been on life support since then but now, some good news is coming out of the hospital he’s being treated at. According to PIX11, DMX’s attorney, Murray Richman, says that he is off of life support and breathing on his own now. Despite this, he says there is still concern.
“I’ve spoken to the family and the family and I are quite close with each other. I am concerned about his well-being and mindful of his significance. I have known Earl for over 25 years and I believe that his music is quite poignant, very important. He’s truly a poet of our time.”
At the time of the reported drug overdose, it was said that DMX was in a “vegetative state” at the hospital. Despite this, there was still some “brain activity.” Doctors had also said that DMX might not make it but thankfully, there is some progress now.
Here's what DMX's attorney, Murray Richman, told PIX11 News Saturday afternoon.
