Not too long ago, Drake was an independent rapper looking for a way to enter the game. Unlike most up-and-coming rappers, Drake already had experienced success, as he was a star in the teen drama, “Degrassi.” But, his acting credentials did little to help him in the rap game. However, a co-sign from Lil Wayne, who was well on his way to taking over the rap game, ushered Drake into the game.
Fast forward three years, Drake has two platinum albums under his belt and countless hit singles. Not looking back, Drake is on tour, promoting his string of hits. Drake began his “Club Paradise” tour back on Valentine’s Day 2012 and recently extended it. When he extended his tour, Drake invited Waka Flocka Flame, J. Cole, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, and French Montana to join him.
In the eyes of many, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, and French Montana are up-and-comers. While there is still room for growth, all three artists have major label deals. Those who have no major label deals on the table may still have an opportunity to tour with Drake, however. Drake has partnered with OurStage.com to give certain artists opening slots on his “Club Paradise” tour.
