This year, Drake took the industry by storm and this followed a couple of years of domination. Changing the game, Drake went officially platinum off a mixtape. Then, his joint mixtape with Future was also a number one album.
Drake also scored the single of the year with “Hotline Bling,” ironically a non album single. Because of the success of the single, Drake seemed primed to be nominated for a Grammy. Then again, Drake seemed primed to top Billboard Hot 100.
There is plenty of drama going on outside of the music Drake is making, as there is tension with Birdman and Lil Wayne. Apparently, this tension does indeed trickle down to Drake, despite what was said. No, “Hotline Bling” will not be Grammy nominated, because Cash Money Records “forgot” to submit the track for nomination.
