Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy,” Becomes Fastest Rap Album To Go Platinum in the US, in 2021, and Remains at Number One, on Billboard 200, For Third Consecutive Week

September has been Drake’s month, as his highly anticipated sixth studio album, “Certified Lover Boy,” was finally released. It went contained 21 tracks, with appearances from Jay Z, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, and more. It went on to debut at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart.

CLB’s run continues on the charts, as it is at number one, for a third straight week. This is after selling 170,000 more units, according to Chart Data. “Way 2 Sexy” ft. Young Thug and Drake, which was the number one song in the US, currently stands at number two, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

CLB has also reached another RIAA certification, as it is now platinum in the US. This is after selling 1 million units. It’s the fastest rap album to hit platinum status this year, as well as the first, to spend its first three weeks at number one.

Draks initially delayed CLB for nine months, but the final release date ended up being leaked, in the last weekend of August. A fan sign was put in the morning edition of ESPN’s SportsCenter, which said “CLB September 3.”
