The hip hop scene in North Carolina is growing and it’s evidenced by the number of artists from the area popping up at different festivals. But, the people in North Carolina will be the first to say there aren’t many programs available within the state. All of this is set to change, courtesy of Foxy 99’s G Moniy and his partner, Young Rich.

Together, these two have put together the 1st Annual Creative Sound Music Conferences and Showcase. This event is a two-day event where independent artists can present themselves to industry professionals. Several of North Carolina’s urban media outlets, including Hip Hop Vibe will be present.

The first event begins on September 26 at Starr Lounge in Fayetteville, North Carolina at 8 pm as a meet and greet for artists, journalists, producers, DJs and radio personalities, and executives. During the mixer, major independent artists will have their music played. Among the people at the event will be Craig Martin of Southeast Marketing and formerly of RCA Records.

On September 27, starting at 1 pm at Embassy Suites, the panel will take place and it will be a learning experience for both artists and managers, before the showcase takes place. The showcase will feature five artists and five producers competing for prizes that include a gift card to Guitar Center, a professional photo shoot, and placement on a few hip hop websites.
