Back in 2011, French Montana made the decision to work beyond getting tired to gain stardom. For the past few years, French Montana had been dropping mixtapes, having varying success. Despite knowing many major artists, he was a virtual unknown, himself.

French Montana turned all of this around and proceeded to dominate 2011, delivering new music on a daily basis. But, once he reached the top, French seemed to lose interest. He released one album, following several delays, and then his long-awaited second album became a tape.

By 2017, French Montana was not even thought of, as DJ Khaled cemented himself as hip hop’s new leader. But, French Montana returned with the biggest single of his career, joined by Kendrick Lamar and Future also having career years. For French, “Unforgettable” is his highest-charting single, topping the Rap charts, and reaching third on the Hot 100, causing him to celebrate on Twitter.
