By 2007, 50 Cent found his popularity waning and hip hop supporting the Miami hip hop scene. Immediately, G-Unit began targeting various Miami-area hip hop artists and members of Cash Money Records.  We the Best, DJ Khaled’s movement was the most high-profile crew to engage G-Unit from Miami.

In 2008, 50 Cent issued a warning to Rick Ross, a member of the movement, about staying out of the beef. 50 Cent, at the time, was focused on dissing Lil Wayne and did not focus on Rick Ross. Things would change in the opening days of 2009, when Ross challenged 50 Cent and eventually won their war of words.

For the first time in his career, 50 Cent found himself on the defense, as Rick Ross boasted of wanting to work with Eminem and Dr. Dre, the men who helped 50 Cent gain fame. At the time, the idea seemed far-fetched, now it is in the works. Over the past three years, Rick Ross took himself from a well-known rapper to being the biggest rapper in the game. His Maybach Music brand is currently dominating the radio waves and Dr. Dre has taken notice, attending his 36th birthday bash in Miami.

The two have been working together and Game, who has a feud of his own with 50 Cent, has discussed the collaboration. Despite the issues with 50 Cent, Game feels it would be good for both Rick Ross and Dr. Dre for them to collaborate. Game discussed the idea of collaborations between Rick Ross and Dr. Dre with MTV News.
