Exactly what is going on in Philadelphia can be debated. But, for the record, the city is in turmoil during a time when the city should be united more than ever. The latest round of disses began when Meek Mill went on a Twitter rant which was apparently aimed at veteran Philadelphia emcee, Gillie Da Kid.
Once he dropped “King Me,” a lot of people thought Gillie Da Kid had fired shots at a man he initially co-signed in Meek Mill. When Gillie Da Kid talked to Hip Hop Vibe, he explained that “King Me” was a month old and that the song was not a diss. Gillie Da Kid went on to explain even Meek Mill called him the king of Philly.
Last week, Gillie Da Kid continued his media rounds and he talked about the Philadelphia scene during a studio session with his team. When asked about being dissed by certain rappers from Philly, Gillie Da Kid said he can’t respond to certain people. Gillie Da Kid then gave his assessment on the other Philadelphia beefs.
