There was never a time in hip hop when the DJs didn’t play an instrumental role in the game, but DJ Drama helped bring this back to the forefront. He actively broke artists, such as T.I. and Young Jeezy and he helped reintroduce many others. Over the years, DJ Drama has made classic mixtapes and he has even more work coming.
Currently, DJ Drama is in the midst of a promo run for Quality Street Music 2, his new album. With the album due in early 2015, DJ Drama released the single, “Right Back,” featuring Jeezy, Rich Homie Quan, and Young Thug. Timing was right for DJ Drama, as he came back right when people began to miss him.
Last night, DJ Drama won big at the 2014 Global Spin Awards and Hip Hop Vibe was on the red carpet. DJ Louie Styles caught up to him for a brief moment and DJ Drama had a few short words for him. In light of his big wins, DJ Drama left Hip Hop Vibe with one statement, “MAMA WE MADE IT.”
