Hip hop is full of inspiring stories that embody the American dream. In a simpler time, before all of the controversy, Murder Inc. Records was one of those stories. A lot has been said about Irv Gotti, Ja Rule, and the empire they built.
Ja Rule even talked to Hip Hop Vibe during the summer of 2014. But, there were other people who helped Murder Inc. Records become the force they were. DJ Ike Love was one of the key players who was there before DJ Irv became Irv Gotti.
DJ Ike Love spoke to Hip Hop Vibe at the Latin Quarter Day Party in New York City a couple of weeks ago. Early in the conversation, DJ Ike Love spoke very quickly about Irv Gotti and some of the Murder Inc. backstory. When speaking on current topics, DJ Ike Love said he is into many independent artists and advised the indies to stay consistent both in work ethic and in sound if they want to make it.
