Even though she rarely responded, Iggy Azalea rose to fame early in 2012 because of her feud with Azealia Banks. Representing Harlem, the femcee was unafraid to go at anyone, so that is exactly what she did. Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea continued pushing her new music and has become a household name.
Later this year, Iggy Azalea hopes to release The New Classic, her debut album that she has been working on for some time. Though the Australian femcee boasts a different style, most deem her “good for hip hop.” Before Iggy Azalea began having success, she was the only femcee making moves outside of Nicki Minaj.
Recently, Iggy Azalea was asked her opinion of Pink Friday, the debut album Nicki Minaj released in 2010. For whatever reason, her review was perceived as a diss towards the popular rapstress. Last week, Iggy Azalea took to Twitter, where she cleared the air about those rumors.

all i said was that i think you can tell the difference between “commercial” or “pop” sounding songs and then “really rap” sounding ones.
— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013
and that i think there is a huge difference in the two sounds for her. i never said either was bad or that it was a bad thing.

— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013
he asked me if i would have “pop songs” and then “rap songs” and i said no, i have more of a generalized blend.
— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013

take quotes out of context. leave out every praise i have for the artist in question, and then write a controversial headline for blog hits.
