Until recently, Iggy Azalea was virtually unknown by most, as her fan base was primarily based in her native Australia. Iggy Azalea was signed by Interscope Records and T.I. was heavily involved in his project. Working closely with a resurgent T.I. and his Grand Hustle label soon led to Azalea being signed to Grand Hustle.

Since the 2010 emergence of Nicki Minaj, the number of successful female rappers have rapidly grown, with Kreayshawn, V-Nasty, and others enjoying success. New York City has also produced a number of new rappers, specifically from Harlem. One Harlem femcee, Azealia Banks, has had success and has claimed Iggy Azalea stole her style.

During a recent interview, veteran femcee, Eve, discussed the renaissance going on with female rappers, announcing her own new album. The discussion soon turned to Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea. While Eve avoided touching their feud, she admitted she liked Banks, but was not too keen on Iggy.

Last week, XXL spoke with Iggy Azalea and she discussed Eve’s comments. While she was disappointed with what Eve said, Iggy admitted she looks up to Eve and is a big fan of her music. Iggy Azalea said she is not mad at Eve for not understanding her music.
