This lyrical renaissance in hip hop started when J. Cole and Wale released their albums back in 2011. Both rappers were class of 2009, but J. Cole had to wait another two years before his album was released. Still, J. Cole and Wale now have several albums under their belts.
As was the case in 2011, J. Cole released his album and then Wale dropped his album and the fans debated. J. Cole and Wale spark a lot of debate with their musical and their lyrical styles. There are a lot of comparisons between the two rappers and them being lyrical emcees from underdeveloped hip hop scenes.
Earlier today, J. Cole and Wale announced they would be hitting the road for a new tour. “What Dreams May Come” is the name of the tour and it launches in a little over a month on September 10. This tour will launch in Miami and will continue well into the fall.
