Literally, one man can change the world, at least for himself if all else fails. When J. Cole was in New York City, nobody believed he would be working with Jay Z, not even Jay Z. It was deemed impossible for someone from Fayetteville to make it on a national scale.
Seven years later, J. Cole is the first rapper to go platinum with no guest appearances in over twenty years. Outside of that, he is featured on the first Janet Jackson album in seven years. Even more impressive is that he got both Jay Z and Drake to perform in Fayetteville.
J. Cole is arguably the biggest rapper in the game, right now. At a time when hip hop shows and album sales are down, J. Cole is packing out arenas and going platinum. With the Forest Hills Drive tour now over, J. Cole received a plaque for his tour grossing $20.4 million.
