Included on the critically-acclaimed Born Sinner album is a song from J. Cole, which he calls “Let Nas Down.” This song details the commercial route J. Cole took for the singles off his debut album, which let Nas down. Later, Nas commented on the song and then recorded his response.
In his response to J. Cole, Nas took the instrumental and renamed the song “Made Nas Proud” and he detailed his pride in him. Over the weekend, the internet has gone into a frenzy over the back-and-forth. For once, hip hop is going back and forth over mutual respect and admiration, as opposed to beef.
J. Cole took to his Twitter in the middle of this frenzy to speak on how all of this feels for him, personally. A lot has gone on with J. Cole and Nas that has caused the internet to continue to buzz over the situation. When he took to his Twitter, J. Cole said the song was a “full circle moment” for him.
