Hands down, J. Cole is the biggest rapper North Carolina has seen, on a mainstream level, although he is big on the underground, too. The Fayetteville native signed with Jay-Z, back in 2008, becoming Roc Nation’s first artist. Six years later, J. Cole has three albums out, the latest of which, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, debuted on top of the charts.
Last night, J. Cole had an amazing performance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” that blew everyone away. Even David Letterman looked as if he was amazed with the performance, as those who saw it can agree to. Performing “Be Free,” J. Cole debuted a new verse from the track.
J. Cole took the trip up to New York City and also paid a visit to Power 105.1. This allowed him the chance to catch up with Angie Martinez. In their lengthy interview, J. Cole spoke on the Letterman performance, talked about 2014 Forest Hills Drive, and much more in the conversation.
