All day long, fans have flooded Twitter, showing Janet Jackson love, and adoration. It was beautiful that this all coincided with #BlackWomenSmiling dominating Twitter. Too often, women of color are left on the outside looking in.
Janet Jackson is a major force, in the game, but she saw her career decline, after her 2004 Super Bowl performance. A wardrobe malfunction with Justin Timberlake did her in. It took years for the two to even speak again.
An accident derailed Janet Jackson’s career, yet rumors were abound that she was returning to perform with JT again. As these rumors became a little much, Janet finally spoke out. She put out a statement, saying she would not be performing at the Super Bowl.
