Business is typically booming for Jay-Z, as he always keeps his hands in various pots. As it stands, Jay-Z manages most of the top artists in the game and this includes his former artists, Kanye West and Rihanna, along with Wale and Meek Mill. However, Jay-Z’s most-popular business is currently his ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets.
Ten years ago, however, Jay-Z was name-dropping the 40/40 Club. When Jay-Z made the decision to “retire” from the rap game in order to focus on running his businesses, most looked down on this decision. However, Jay-Z only proved how ahead of his time he was, as 40/40 Clubs popped up in various cities.
In October 2005, Jay-Z launched the Atlantic City 40/40 Club. Last fall, the club was severely damaged after Hurricane Sandy ruined the building. Storm damages paired with the end of the lease led to Jay-Z and the rest of the management deciding to close to club permanently. However, the charter 40/40 Club in New York City remains intact.
