The whole series of “Power” was set up for a moment like this. When the series began, Kanan (50 Cent) was returning from prison, out for revenge on Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora). His initial plan was to turn Tommy on Ghost, but it didn’t work.
By season two, Ghost and Kanan were full-fledged rivals, and the two fought to the death, with Ghost winning. However, season three proved all Ghost did was badly hurt Kanan. Living underground, Kanan ran up on Dre (Rotimi) to meet Tariq (Michael Rainey, Jr.).
Since then, Kanan and Tariq have been hanging out and bonding, as friends, despite Jukebox (Anika Noni Rose) wanting to use Riq as bait to get Ghost, killing them both. It looked like Kanan would flip, after Ghost got released from prison. Instead, he teamed up with Ghost to kill Jukebox and free Tariq.
