Kanye West has quite the history with Adidas, as they helped him become a billionaire. Also, they have had some epic clashes, which led to him no longer being a billionaire. As a result, Kanye West ended up continuing Yeezy as an independent company. Before their partnership ended, Kanye accused Adidas of stealing his designs. Back on the music, he and Ty Dolla $ign did a joint album, and “Carnival,” their singe, went number one on Billboard Hot 100. In response, Kanye had more words for Adidas.
Kanye West went through lawyer and banking situations with Adidas. As a result, he ended up doing the infamous “Drink Champs” interview. Despite it being N.O.R.E.’s most viewed interview of all-time, he ended up removing it. This was due to the backlash from the things Kanye said about the people in control of the corporations he was doing business with. Last month, Ye teased potentially collaborating with Adidas again. However, he’s now calling them out again.
Kanye West recently teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign for their Vultures album. Completely independent, the album went number one on Apple Music. After that, their single, “Carnival,” went number one on Billboard Hot 100. Not only did Kanye make history as an independent artist for this feat, but he also broke generational barriers. With Hot 100 number ones in the 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s, he became the first rapper to accomplish this. As a result, he shared another Adidas video rant.
