On Saturday night, Kanye West shocked the world by announcing on Twitter that he’d be running for President in this year’s election. He has since received endorsements from Elon Musk and 2 Chainz.
What many people did think about though was if West was actually able to run based on deadlines, etc. This is the case, according to CNN. West hasn’t registered with the Federal Election Commission, presented a campaign platform, or collected enough signatures to be able to get on the presidential ballot. He also missed the deadline to register as an Independent in a lot of states.
A lot of people should definitely be relieved. A vote for West would’ve been a vote for Donald Trump since Trump’s people are making sure their guy gets in and won’t vote for West. People can’t afford to joke around in this election like they did in 2016 where they sat home because they thought Hillary Clinton would get an easy win over Trump. People also casted in ballots for Harambe, the gorilla who was killed in a zoo.
West also saadky showed support for Trump in 2018 by wearing MAGA hats and even said that slavery was a choice. He went on to visit Trump at the White House and was all smiles and hugged him as well.
