His music was a hit with fans and it led him to landing collaborations with many veterans in the game. After receiving co-signs from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar was recruited by Game to appear on his The R.E.D. Album.
Kendrick Lamar’s breakthrough release of 2011 was his Section.80 album. While the album was met with positive reviews, Kendrick Lamar felt it was not something to be presented as his first official album. Throughout 2011, Kendrick Lamar promised he would release his official debut album in 2012.
Towards the end of 2011, Kendrick Lamar announced he was recording new material to be released in 2012. In the opening days of 2011, Kendrick Lamar has returned with a major announcement. During an interview with The Source, the Los Angeles rapper revealed he has completed his new album. Kendrick Lamar said the new album is not a follow-up to his Section.80, rather a proper debut album to deliver to his fans.
